St. Mary of the Lake is a Roman Catholic parish of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. We are a unique parish family, comprised of individuals from the town of Culver, the Lake Maxinkuckee community as well as students, faculty and staff of the Culver Academies.
Our primary purpose as a parish is to serve the spiritual needs of those within our boundaries. This includes assisting the souls in our care to foster a deeper and greater relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, the sacraments and service in charity for others. The efforts we make to support and direct growth in the Christian life among our members is primary in the work of Evangelization. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states:
“In order that the message of salvation can show the power of its truth and radiance before men, it must be authenticated by the witness of the life of Christians.” (2044)
